Freeport ‘Boys and Girls’ Make Music With Buckets To Practice for Upcoming Shows

Freeport, Illinois — The Boys and Girls Club of Freeport & Stephenson County helps youth of all backgrounds with special concern for those from disadvantaged circumstances. The Boys and Girls clubs helps develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders, irrespective of race, color, creed or national origin.

One thing we’ve noticed in our lifetime is that it’s usually the unnoticed, who posses the most creative talent. So many artists and musicians, people who have even invented great things are often not the ones we tend to look at for great things.

Throughout the year the Boys and Girls Club puts on numerous events.

This February 10th, 2017 they have their Middle School Dance at 7:30 and on February 25th, they have Voices of the Past and Future coming to the Jeanette Lloyd Theatre. (We’ll bring you more details later)

We did discover this little video however done by Jim Estes of some behind the scenes practice happening called “Beats and Buckets”.

Here, the kids practice for upcoming shows using buckets and drum sticks and we have to say, we’re definitely seeing some talent and feeling the beat.

The Boys and Girls Club Of Freeport & Stephenson County is located at 511 Liberty Street in Freeport, Il.
