September 11th, 2019 Press Release – Felony Arrest Freeport, IL. – Jennifer Adams, age 41, arrested on felony charges related to June 5th murder in Freeport. During the morning hours of September 11th, 2019, the Freeport Police Department received a Stateline Area Crime Stoppers tip concerning the current whereabouts of Jennifer Adams who was wanted in connection with the June 5th murder of Thomas Fort in Freeport. Freeport P.D. Detectives forwarded the tip information to the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task and Jennifer Adams was subsequently located and arrested outside of a motel in Joliet Illinois on today’s date at approximately 1:00pm. Personnel from the Will County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Task Force were also present and assisted the Marshal’s Task Force with the apprehension. Jennifer Adams will be held in the Will County Jail until she can be extradited to the Stephenson County Jail. The Freeport Police Department would like to express our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the personnel from the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Region Fugitive Task Force and the Will County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Task Force whose assistance was vital to this apprehension. Additionally, we would also like to recognize Stateline Area Crime Stoppers. Organizations such as Stateline Area Crime Stoppers are an important asset to law enforcement in the on-going fight against crime, and this arrest serves as a great example of their effectiveness.
