Freeport’s Own Linda Tyler Wins $50,000 Bucks In Illinois Lottery

FREEPORT, IL — May 26, 2017 — Freeport resident Linda Tyler scratched an Illinois Lottery Crossword ticket and instantly won a top prize of $50,000.  “I know someone who won a $50,000 Crossword prize a few years ago, and I thought that if it could happen to them, it could happen to me, too.  And it did!”

Tyler bought her winning ticket at Boco Self-Serve Mini Mart, 511 E. Stephenson St., in Freeport, and was in her car in the parking lot when she scratched it.  She plans to pay bills and put the remainder in the bank.

The retailer received a $500 bonus, equal to one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.  Crossword is a $3 instant ticket offering 26 top prizes of $50,000, 12 of which have not been claimed.  For more information, please visit illinoislottery.com.
