Freeport, Illinois — While not something you would necessarily associate with Freeport in the same way as say, Mrs. Mikes potato chips or the Holiday Christmas Apple that lights up a part of Stephenson Street during the season, we must say the sunrises and sunsets we experience here are just breathtaking.
Over the past two years, those of you who have followed us for any length of time, have seen many sunrises and shots of the sun setting around Freeport. We even caught a lightening bolt next to a rainbow once on an evening just hanging out at Cimino’s.
Lightning Next To A Rainbow. Last Night In Freeport We Caught These Images Of A Double Rainbow In The Eastern Skies. The Lightning Hit Just As We Raised The Camera Before Focus. We Still Included It.
But earlier today Dan Misek of Freeport snapped this photo of a rainbow ‘rising with the sunrise’ directly over Freeport. An awe inspiring view and yet another glimpse into the amazing world we live in.
It’s an image that in a way, we all feel thankful for when we see it and being that it’s Thanksgiving week, it just makes the sight extra special.
So no, maybe we aren’t known for our breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, we certainly do have them and we sure are thankful that we do.
