Stockton’s 50 Year July 4th Tradition Continues

Stockton, Illinois — Like a few other small towns in the state the little village of Stockton, Illinois has a reputation for one of the area’s best July 4th annual celebrations. It’s a big reputation in a really small town — with the population of Stockton being just 2,000 people.

But on July 4th thousands from around the region join the citizens of the city and take part in the festivities and fun that make for a great 4th of July day. At night, Stockton ends the day with an always amazing fireworks display that’s a must see.

Stockton’s 4th of July Committee says the celebration is easily “the largest and longest-running in the region, having grown into a “must-do” event throughout it’s more than 50 years in existence.”

The annual celebration is made possible because of the community, the committee says. If you’d like to help with this years event, you can do so by clicking here. The 4th of July Committee has begun a fundraiser with the goal of $2,000.
