Freeport, Illinois — May 28, 2017 — This morning in downtown Freeport bike riders from all over the area came to Freeport Bicycle Company to participate in the 10,000 ft. scenic Memorial Day bike ride called the Ten Thousand.
The Ten Thousand is a 120-ish mile, 10,000ft. elevated ride full of gorgeous views atop high ridges, thrilling descents into river valleys, and astonishingly difficult climbs, according to Stu Garwick from Freeport Bicycle Company.
Freeport Bicycle Company holds numerous group rides, kids’ nights and clinics for bicyclists of all levels. Their mission is to help people find the bike for them or their family that fits all needs and styles.
This morning’s 120 mile ride kickoff took place at around 9:00 this morning and was captured by the cool folks at Mort’s Bar & Grill.
It’s nice to see so many people coming to downtown Freeport for this Memorial Weekend bike ride.
