Dairy Queen Freeport Celebrates 1st Day of Spring With ‘FREE Cone Day’

Freeport, Illinois — Spring officially arrives today this March 20th, 2017 and there’s no better way to kick off spring than with something FREE.

That’s right. Completely free.

Today is the spring equinox — when the day and night are equal in length. The word equinox comes from the Latin for equal and night. Almost everywhere in the world today, nighttime and daytime are each 12 hours. It’s also FREE cone day at your Freeport Dairy Queen located on South Street.

So not only do you get to enjoy the first official day of spring, you also get to enjoy a FREE cone at participating Dairy Queen restaurants throughout the country.

Each year, Dairy Queen hosts their Free Cone Day where all customers can get a free small vanilla soft-serve cone. Dairy Queen just asks that all customers that pick up their free cone make a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network, although this isn’t required to get your free cone.

Since 1984 they’ve raised more than $110 million for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.

DQ Freeport is participating in FREE cone day. To find out if your local DQ is participating  we highly suggest that you call your local Dairy Queen before you head out, to make sure that they’re participating in Free Cone Day 2017.
