Downtown Freeport Plans Historic ‘Cubs Day’ This Sunday

Freeport, Illinois — As most of you know the 2016 Chicago Cubs World Series Trophy will be in Freeport, Illinois this Sunday.

Thousands of travelers and local folks will fill the city to catch a glimpse, or snap a photo, of this historic event with their friends and family in our city.

Some of the local businesses in downtown Freeport have partnered together to offer visitors a special ‘Cubs Day’ in downtown.

From 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8th, 2017 participating businesses who are open (some will be flying a Cubs sign or the ‘W’ sign) will be offering discounts and specials. To those who wear Cubs memorabilia, some downtown stores will be offering in deeper discounts and savings.

Other events such as lunch specials from 10:00 – 2:00 and dinner specials from 5:00 – 8:00 that day are also being planned.

So this Sunday as you head to Freeport to see the 2016 Chicago Cubs World Series Trophy, make a day of it in our city and take a little trip to Freeport’s historic downtown.

The Cubs Trophy will be on display at the Masonic Temple which is part of Freeport’s downtown. That means a great lunch, a unique shopping adventure and a great dinner with your friends and family is right around the corner.
