Meet Cindy Marrazzo – July’s Featured Artist at Deluna Fine Art Gallery

Freeport, Illinois — July 6, 2017 — At age 16, so impressed by her ability, 3 art teachers came to Cindy Marrazzo’s house to speak with her parents about their daughters future in art. A hopeful conversation that didn’t quite go over so well for the teachers, or for Cindy’s art career. At that moment, Cindy says she put the brush down angry and never touched it again.

She joined the Marines.

Cindy became the first 17 year old female in the entire country to graduate bootcamp. She served in the Vietnam war, became an engineer and eventually worked at NASA on the Space Shuttle and did fire cause and origin work on the Arlington Park racetrack which burned to the ground in 1985.

It wasn’t until 36 years later, after being laid off from her corporate job, that Cindy says she picked the brush back up again and began to paint. She say’s that’s when her true joy came back just like it was when she was a kid.

You have a chance to meet Cindy this weekend at De Luna Fine Art Gallery in downtown Freeport. She will be the special guest this weekend and her artwork will be on display during the entire month of July.

De Luna Fine Art Gallery is located at 2 W Main St in downtown Freeport.
