Freeport, Illinois – The Northwest Illinois Audubon Society will have its 35th Annual Banquet and Program “Natural History of Odonata: Dragonflies and Damselflies”, beginning with a silent auction at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., and program at 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Highland Community College, Student Conference Center, Building H, the Newell Room, Room 201, 2998 W. Pearl City Rd., Freeport.
The program speaker will be Marla Garrison, biology faculty member at McHenry College. Garrison is also a member of the Executive Council of the Dragonfly Society of the Americas and is the author of Damselflies of Chicagoland, a local field guide. The dinner will be catered by Paulson’s catering and will consist of pasture-raised turkey from Arnold’s Farm, sweet corn from Drake’s Farm, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry salad, whole grain rolls, and home-baked desserts.
The cost of both meal and program is $20.00 per adult (Kids 12 and under are free). Reservations are required for the meal by April 1. For program only, the cost is $3.00 (students are free) and individuals can pay at the door. To make a reservation, call Tim Smith at (815) 835-5109.
