Freeport, Illinois – Deb Green, owner of Black Diamond Music Studio & Sales is leading the way in building a local music scene for music lovers in the region.
On August 27 Deb put together the single largest all day music fest ever put on in Freeport. She also hosts Open Mic nights and an event she calls Take the Stage, which allows bands to get real life stage experience in front of a live audience. Deb says she just wants to foster the local music scene and give people opportunities to get their music heard locally.
And Deb’s not sitting still.
On Saturday, October 1st there will be a mini Encore event at the Krape Park Band Shell with Diamond’s Fall Blues Fest. The event will feature Freeport and other area bands playing Blues, Jazz, RnB and Soul.
As for music, the line up couldn’t be sweeter.
Open Jam before the event kicks off from 11-12:30 for any Bands or Musicians not part of the main line up. Then…
- Mark and Lynn Rische kickoff the event from 12:15-1pm with their Bluegrass/ Gospel Music
- Chuck Veer and Take 27 perform from 1pm -2
- Walter Hayward Sr plays from 2-2:30pm
- Speakeasy with Mark Frazer, Mike Caruso and Dewey Veer go on from 3-4pm
- Jeff Goins and Terry Nugent with Big Dirty finish up the fun Blues Fest playing 4-5pm.
The best part, the event is completely Free and open to the public. The only stipulation, you gotta come to have fun for a great day of music on October 1 at Krape Park.
