Book World Freeport Liquidation Sale

Freeport, Illinois —  As announced yesterday, the Wisconsin book chain known as Book World released this past week that it will close all 45 of its stores in 7 states including several in northwestern Illinois. The list included the Book World in Freeport, Illinois.

The store in Freeport said on their Facebook page yesterday, “With great sadness, we must tell you, today, that our business can no longer go on”. They said they can well understand how devastating this is for them and everyone involved with Book World.

As a result, Book World in Freeport is having a liquidation sale. All books are listed at 20% off, all Greeting Cards are 40% off and food is discounted as well. In addition, on Wednesday this week Book World in Freeport partnered with the Salvation Army to help others in the community. Customers can purchase any book or toy to donate to the Salvation Army and get 20% off both the donated item and 20% off an item for themselves.

We spoke with the local store this morning who said the sales will get progressive as time goes on.  As for the support from the local community the store says “We are all forever grateful!”.

“Please make every effort to continue to support your local bookstores and all other local businesses. We are truly dependent on each other!”

The store is open Monday – Friday 9:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.. Their telephone number is (815) 232-7323.
