ComEd Begin’s Replacement of Transformer Near Tutty’s Crossing

Freeport, Illinois — June 1, 2017 — The city of Freeport has announced that on June 1, 2017, ComEd will begin the replacement of a transformer at the substation near Tutty’s Crossing, located at 250 E. Stephenson Street.

The city’s press release states that replacement will require ComEd equipment and personnel to access the site through Tutty’s Crossing, however the Jane Addams Trail will remain open.

It goes on to say that this project will not affect power in the City and is expected to last up to 30 days.
