Freeport Fire send Freeport Police home empty in a big win for the community

Freeport, Illinois — It’s the new annual community event both teams plan and prepare and strategize all year for in Freeport. The competition where the bravest of the brave, the heroes of heroes battle it out on the basketball court in the name of local kids and community.

The 2nd Annual Battle of the Badges was held Saturday at Aquin High School and after last years loss, Freeport Fire turned things around Saturday afternoon beating the Freeport Police in a game held to bring the whole community together.

The event raises money for various programs the police are involved in throughout the year in the community, such as the local PBPA unit which is a charity organization through the police department.
