Highland Student-Athletes Receive All-American Recognition

FREEPORT — The tradition of high quality student-athletes participating in Cougar athletic programs continued in 2016-2017. Eight Highland Community College students were named Academic Student-Athlete Award recipients by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Receiving second team honors with a GPA of 3.80-3.99 are:

  • Kristina Antonenko: Women’s Basketball, Moscow, Russia
  • Brandon Brown: Baseball, Elizabeth
  • Halle Fransen: Softball, Freeport

Receiving third team honors (3.60-3.79 GPA) are:

  • Allyson Bartling: Softball, Mt. Morris
  • Hannah Bollon: Softball, Orangeville
  • Taylor Haag: Volleyball, Milledgeville
  • Seongsoo Park: Golf, Inchean, South Korea
  • Rachael Wybourn: Softball, Lena
