Patching on US 20 at AYP Road and US 20 to begin May 6

Dixon, IL – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced last week that weather permitting, pavement patching on US 20 at the AYP Road and US 20 intersection north of Freeport will begin on May 6, 2019. G.M. Sipes Construction, Inc. will be installing concrete patches on the $286,377 project to improve this section of roadway.

Daytime lane closures on US 20 with flaggers and lane shifts will be utilized to complete the work. This project is expected to be completed by the end of May 2019.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
