Rockford, Illinois — Freeport may have gotten lucky so far with this evening’s weather but a town just to the east of us, wasn’t as lucky. And when storm clouds move in, there’s one regional weather observer who gets really excited.
Will Wright (or as most know him, Weather Man Will) was on the scene capturing raw footage of this evening’s storm in Rockford, The below footage is of the hail coming down on the roadway and another clip is from the BP gas station in Rockford.

In Freeport there is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning that remains in effect until 9:45 p.m. for Easter Jo Daviess, Northeastern Carroll and Stephenson County.
At 901 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Winslow to Stockton to near Massbach, moving southeast at 55 mph. HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.
IMPACT: Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
