Who Remembers These ‘Twin Caves’?

Freeport, Illinois — If you’ve lived in Freeport for any length of time chances are you’ve either walked, driven or floated past the infamous Twin Caves.

When we were growing up the story was that below the caves, in the water was an underground cave that was said to have led to the caves above.  The Twin Caves were discovered in 1861 and are only accessible by boat.

Have you been to Freeport’s Twin Caves within Krape Park?
