Freeport To Participate In Illinois Bicentennial Flag Raising Ceremony

Freeport, Illinois — The City of Freeport will participate in a statewide Illinois Bicentennial Flag Raising Ceremony that will be the kick off of a 365-day celebration of our state’s 200th birthday. This event is part of a statewide opportunity coordinated at the direction of Governor Bruce Rauner. It is an opportunity to celebrate all that has been great in our first 200 years and lay the foundation for 200 more years of growth and opportunity.

Please join us at City of Freeport, City Hall, 314 W. Stephenson Street on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 12:00 PM. We will gather around the flag pole on our front lawn.

As part of this celebration we will have our Freeport Police Department Color Guard participate and our National Anthem will be sung by Falecia Smith.
