League of Women Voters of Freeport to host Candidate Forum

Freeport, Illinois — The League of Women Voters of Freeport is hosting a Candidate Forum on Wednesday, February 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Freeport Public Library.  The Forum is being co-sponsored by the Freeport Public Library Foundation.  Alan Wenzel, former director of the Highland College Leadership Institute, will serve as moderator.

Candidates in contested races for the Stephenson County Board (Jerry Clay and Eric D. Coy, O.D. for District L, Gail Clore and Andy Schroeder for District G), Stephenson County Sheriff (David A. Snyders and Stephen Schaible), and State Representative District 89 (Andrew Chesney and Steven Fricke) have been invited and will be presented with questions that are broad-based and issue-oriented; questions will not be provided in advance.  All candidates for contested positions will be asked the same questions.  Candidates will also be able to make opening and closing statements.  Responses will be timed to ensure all candidates are heard equally.

All voters and interested members of the public are invited.

The Freeport Public Library is located at 100 E Douglas St, in downtown Freeport, Illinois
