White Substance Thrown At Rauner’s Office, Capitol On Lockdown, Budget Vote Delayed

Springfield, Illinois — July 6, 2017 — You just couldn’t make this stuff up if you tried. According to WAND TV a powdery white substance was thrown at Gov. Rauner’s office today around 1:30 p.m. just shortly before a vote on the budget was to take place.

WAND-TV said a a woman was arrested for throwing the white substance on Thursday in front of the doorway to Governor Bruce Rauner’s office.  A number of lawmakers hadn’t entered the Capitol at that time, so many lawmakers are currently locked out of the Capitol.

The vote on a budget veto override is currently delayed.

Reports state no one is clear as of yet exactly what the white powder was. Details of the person arrested have yet to be released.
