Afternoon Shooting Leaves Another Gunshot Victim In Freeport

Freeport, Illinois — At 2:18 p.m. today the Facebook page Stephenson County Scanner reported that Freeport, Illinois just had another gunshot victim.

Around 2:30 this afternoon we heard numerous sirens going off in the city.

One person said that Police were chasing a red car North on Float Ave stating that a a person was laying on the ground at the corner of Float and Empire.

It was stated that the individual shot was being transported to the hospital.

That’s all the news we have at this time. And what more news about it do we need. Another alleged gunshot victim in Freeport in the middle of the afternoon on a Monday.

UPDATE: 3:20 p.m. We have just received unconfirmed reports also from Stephenson County Scanner that there were allegedly two shootings, both of which are said to be related. In addition to the shooting on Walnut and Float at Empire there is also a Water Rescue (man fleeing in water) on Rock City Road and River Road. From what we are being told both shootings are related. A vehicle fled from the Walnut St shooting towards Ridott and ran into the River to attempt to escape.
