Stockton, Illinois — The city of Stockton along with nearly everyone in the entire region are protecting their own today after news broke that a pregnant couple out knocking on doors in the early morning hours, may be looking for prescription drugs in people’s homes.
At 9:01 this morning, Jennifer Arand shared on Facebook that at 5:30 this morning her and her husband received a knock on their door.
Present was a couple they believe to be in their early 20’s, with the woman claiming she was pregnant and in labor. Arand said the couple claimed to be lost and out of gas, and then the woman had asked to use the restroom.
Feeling something wasn’t right, Arand said after the couple left they went to the police. According to Arand, they learned at that time they were the 5th house in the area to have had this happen.
Arand says they both have records, are from Freeport and were driving a small black car.
According to Arand’s 9 am post, “The cops in town have pulled them over but haven’t been able to charge them with anything at this point. The cops think they are looking for prescription drugs”.
One other person said they received a knock on the door and said, “They showed up at my place to but I was not as nice they went on there way and I called the cops.”
What Should You Do?
NEVER LET ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSE IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THEM. THAT APPLIES TO OFF DUTY POLICE OFFICERS AND ANYONE IN UNIFORM YOU ARE NOT EXPECTING.
If you receive a knock on your door, not just from this couple but any suspicious person, for any reason they give you, notify your local police immediately. It is a good idea to also call your neighbors and ask them if they have seen anyone or had anyone come to their door.
Notify the police and do NOT let anyone in your home.
As a side note, just observe how creative people will get to try and pull one over on others. If only they knew that if they would just channel their creativity towards positive things, their lives would actually be a thousand times better.
Be alert, be smart, be safe.
