In 1998 Robert Smigel produced the “Conspiracy Theory Rock” bit shown below for Saturday Night Live. A parody of the famed Schoolhouse Rock cartoons of the 70s, Conspiracy Theory Rock exposes media giants including GE, Westinghouse, Fox, and Disney claiming how they devour the smaller guys—the traditional networks—and use them to say whatever they please and put down the opinions of anyone who disagrees. Poking fun at “Conspiracy Theorists” the clip points out that our corporations are poisoning and destroying the U.S. public.
It aired once with the original episode but was subsequently pulled from the show. Any reruns of the episode had the parody removed.
