Freeport News Network — The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Jo Daviess County in Northwestern Illinois and Stephenson County in Northwestern Illinois.

* Until 230 AM CDT Thursday.

* At 826 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include… Freeport, Galena, Lena, Bellevue, Stockton, Warren, Hanover, Pearl City, Elizabeth, Cedarville, Davis, Woodbine, Dakota, German Valley, Scales Mound, Apple River, Winslow, Rock City, Menominee and Ridott.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 TO 2 inches are possible in the warned area.

Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
