Freeport, Illinois — Freeport Choral Society will present its Advent Concert entitled “Joy, Love, Peace” on November 18, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at St. John United Church of Christ, 1010 S. Park Blvd., Freeport. Gwynne French conducts the society choir, and Jean Mahon conducts the Community Handbell Choir. Randy Cook will provide keyboard accompaniment, and Patty Weik will be on percussion. The Handbell Choir will play two numbers as well as accompany the choir on “Silent Night.” Nancy Lehman adds flute accompaniment as does Tom Parkinson on trumpet on several selections.
Due to the sudden rainstorm at Krape Park during the summer concert on August 5, several numbers from that program will be included in this concert under the direction of Jeffery DeLay. Collin Ebbers will play featured trumpet on “Boogie, Woogie, Bugle Boy,” and Harvey Wilhelms joins on bass. The concepts of Joy, Love, and Peace permeate all of the selections.
