Highland Community To Host Massive Job Fair

Freeport, Illinois — Highland Community’s 2017 Job Fair is set for Wednesday, March 29, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Current students, graduates and area residents seeking employment are all invited to attend.

This free event is an excellent networking opportunity for job seekers, typically featuring more than 30 employers in northern Illinois.

The 2017 Job Fair will be held in the Newell Room, located on the second floor of the Student/Conference Center. Business casual attire is highly recommended at the Job Fair.

This 3-hour retreat will feature job fair tips and strategies re: personal presentation skills, building effective resumes and cover letters, and conclude with a resume and cover letter open lab, where Career Service staff will assist you with finalizing your resume and cover letter for the Job Fair. Post Job Fair Retreat: What Now?
Saturday, April 1, 9 a.m.- noon, R 130
This 3-hour retreat will take place the week after the job fair and will focus on how to follow up on your leads received at the main event. Topics covered will include: how to complete online applications, social media no no’s, and soft skill and interviewing technique development. Register here.
