Highland Servant Leadership Program Holds 20th Annual Year-End Celebration

Freeport, Illinois — On Sunday, April 23, more than 350 servant leaders, their families, teachers, mentors, and guests attended the annual year-end celebration that emphasized the significance of the Highland Community College High School Servant Leadership Program. The program is devoted to training local high school juniors and seniors to be leaders and servers throughout their lives.

Thirteen area schools participated in the two-year program. Thirty-one students were recognized for perfect attendance. Of those 31 students, eight achieved perfect attendance for both their junior and senior years.

Three keynote senior speakers were chosen by their fellow peers to convey what Servant Leadership means to them. The speakers were Patrick Gustafson of the Aquin Chapter, Cristian George of the Freeport Chapter, and Cameron Timm of the Forreston Chapter.
