Locals Come Together To Help Friends Who Lost Everything In Highland Avenue Fire

Freeport, Illinois — As a result of Thursday afternoon’s fire which broke out at a home located on Highland Avenue in Freeport, many local people are pulling together to try and help out.

Ashley Huenefeld wrote on her Facebook page yesterday that her friends “lost everything” in the fire and were left with only the clothes they were wearing. With the loss of not only all of the belongings, a pet named Axel died in the fire.

Ashley and others are asking those in the community to help out with clothing or money if they can.  Sizes and things needed are size 13 shoes, shirts 4xl, pants 40 by 32, coat 5xl, shoes 7 and half,  shirts medium, pant size 5, coat medium, rain shoes size 2, shirts and pants 10 12 and coats 12 14. Additionally shoes 0 to 3 months and clothes and coats for 3 to 6 months.

A Go Fund me campaign has been setup to help. Otherwise those interested or able to help can reach out to Ashley on her Facebook page.
