Freeport, Illinois – Northern Illinois Manufacturers Host 3nd Annual Manufacturing Day, themed “Make Your Career Here”, aligned with National Manufacturing Month.
Employers will provide tours to nearly 90 students from seven area schools, including Dakota, Durand, Freeport, Lena, Orangeville, Pearl City, and Pecatonica, each school will tour two locations. Students will then travel to Highland Community College to participate in an Employer Expo and Technology Center tour. The Employer Expo includes employers presenting their products, career opportunities, along with industry professionals speaking about career pathways, regional opportunities, and advice for interested youth. Technology Center tours include design, manufacturing processes, electronics, and automation technology.
