Women’s Health NP Sara Smith Joins FHN

Freeport, Illinois — Popular women’s health nurse practitioner Sara Smith, WHNP-BC, has joined the FHN Women’s Healthcare team at FHN Specialty Care – Harlem Avenue in Freeport.

Smith, who works with collaborating physician Keith Martin, MD, has more than 15 years of experience in caring for women and has a special interest in adolescent health, nutrition, and obstetrics.

She earned a master’s degree and certification as an advanced practice nurse and certified women’s health nurse practitioner at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from University of Illinois at Chicago and an associate’s degree in nursing from Trinity College of Nursing in Moline, Ill.

Smith began her nursing career at what was then Freeport Memorial Hospital and has cared for patients at the Community Clinic of Northwest Illinois, Highland Women’s Care – Monroe Clinic in Freeport and most recently at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
