3-D Modeling Software Coming to Freeport’s Fire Department Thanks To Grant From FM Global

Freeport, Illinois — The FM Global has awarded the City of Freeport a $3,322 grant award under the Fire Prevention Program. Grant funds will be used to purchase 3-D modeling software and related hardware that will allow the City’s Fire Department do diagram entire buildings digitally and on-site. This information will allow for safety improvements when addressing structural fires and to enhance pre-fire planning.

A brief grant award presentation was held today at 11:00 a.m. at the Freeport Fire Department Central Fire Station located at 1650 S. Walnut.

FM Global provides commercial property insurance products. During the past 40 years, FM Global has contributed millions of dollars in fire prevention grants to fire service organizations around the globe. Locally, the company has awarded grants to a number of Illinois based organizations.
