Freeport, Illinois — May 15, 2017 — You’ve seen our broadcasts. You’ve watched our segments. You’ve met legends of BMX and we’ve shown you some young people coming up in local BMX. One of the interviews we did was with Levi Lakota.
Turns out Levi just keeps getting better and better with age just like a fine wine, except this fine wine — is just 7 years old.
This past week Levi finished first in BMX open against an 8 year old (Levi just turned 7) and he won in his class. That win moved Levi from intermediate to expert.
In less than a year and a half Levi has went from just hopping on a bike, to riding like a pro and now, he is one. Dad Jerry says he couldn’t be more proud of his son.
“He has a heart of a champion” his Dad says. His Dad Jerry also said this past week’s win was Levi’s 20th so far.
Troy Schleich, also with the Freeport BMX team said the team itself is tied for 1st place after this past week’s standings.
