Freeport, Illinois — Earlier today the Freeport Police Department released arrest information on one, Roy L. Jones of Freeport for his alleged connection with the bomb threat made to the Freeport School District
According to Freeport Police, the arrest in regard to the bomb threat that was received by the Freeport School District on 01/08/18 is of Roy L Jones, 21, of Freeport. Jones faces class 3 felony charges of Disorderly Conduct.
Police state the offense can be punishable by 2-5 years in the department of corrections and a fine not less than $3000.00.
Police said that the Freeport School District received an anonymous threat that an individual had a bomb and was going to blow up one of the Freeport School District buildings. The ongoing investigation led the Freeport Police Department to Roy Jones. Jones, who is not a student with the Freeport School District, was located and taken into custody on 01/10/18. Jones is being lodged at the Stephenson County Jail. Jones Bond has been set at $250,000, 10% applies.
