City of Freeport Landscape Waste Program To Begin

Freeport, Illinois — In an effort to help residents and homeowners clear up grass clippings, leaves, weeds, brush, and tree trimmings Freeport’s Landscape Waste Program will run this year beginning April 12th and will continue through November 8th.

The Landscape Waste Program, which is a program through Moring Disposal, is for residential pick-up of grass clippings, leaves, weeds, brush, and tree trimmings less than 2 inches in diameter. Pick up will be on Wednesday each week with the exception of the following holidays:

  • Memorial Day Collection will be on Thursday, June 1st
  • Independence Day Collection will be on Thursday, July 6th
  • Labor Day Collection will be on Thursday, September 7th

There is an annual prepaid program fee of $91.00, which will include the rental of a landscape waste toter, weekly landscape waste service, and disposal.

Additional toters are available for rent for the season for an annual prepaid fee of $41.50.

On collection day, toters must be at the curb by 5:00 a.m. and removed from the curb no later than 6:00 p.m. Toters set out after the truck has passed will not be dumped until the following week. All landscape waste must be placed in the toter with the lids closed.

Bags, bundles, or cans are not accepted with this program.
