City of Freeport To Continue Leaf Program Regardless of Snowfall Accumulation

FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — The city of Freeport Public Works Department has just issued a statement regarding leaf collection in Freeport, stating that the city of Freeport will continue the Leaf Pickup Program on Monday, November 4th regardless of the snowfall accumulation of the anticipated snow event.

“As mother nature gives us a trick instead of a treat on this Halloween, the City of Freeport’s Public Works Department wants to inform you that we will continue the Leaf Pickup Program on Monday, November 4th regardless of the snowfall accumulation of the anticipated snow event.”

The city says with the snowfall projections varying, the City has preemptively removed all leaf removal equipment from their trucks and prepped them for the snowfall.

They stated that once this storm passes, they will take a day to remove the snow/ice equipment to prepare their leaf collection equipment and will plan to begin again starting next Monday.
