Community Foundation of Northern Illinois Announces Scholarship Program

The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois is proud to announce the opening of its application for its scholarship program. CFNIL’s scholarship program includes more than 80 unique scholarships and awards more than $200,000 to local students per year. The application period will close on March 1.

All of CFNIL’s scholarship funds were created by individuals or organizations that recognize the importance of helping students achieve their educational goals, now and in perpetuity. The funds’ creators selected the criteria for each scholarship, based on their interests and the community’s need. Many of CFNIL’s scholarships are memorial scholarships, which celebrate the life and passions of individuals.

The majority of scholarships are for graduating high school seniors in Boone, Ogle, Stephenson and Winnebago Counties. Scholarships are available based on academic achievement; non-traditional students; students with financial need; student athletes; students of color; and students pursuing careers in education, STEM, business, fire science, and healthcare. Some scholarships are renewable for up to four years. The diversity of scholarship offerings reflects the diversity of CFNIL’s donors and the communities it serves.
