Freeport, Illinois — In an announcement made earlier today, it was announced that Corey Engel of Freeport will begin working for the Freeport Chamber of Commerce.
Engel, a Freeport native, is well known in the community with numerous ties to various organizations, schools, in health and in business.
“I’m excited to announce that I will be joining the Freeport Chamber of Commerce team on Monday” Engel said to his friends and family on Facebook. “My role with the Chamber will be something that I love to do and that’s talk business, networking, advertising, memberships, and other various duties”.
Engel is also known regionally with his local businesses. Engel, his wife and business partner own the Cheese Market in Freeport. The Cheese Market also has a location in Rockford, Illinois.
Along with cheese, Engel has had a successful DJ business for over three decades. Engel said that after 34 years his DJ business is on hold until his children decide if they want to continue the business after college.
“The Cheese Markets are in great hands with my wife and business partner managing the day to day operations of the stores” Engel said. “I absolutely love the Cheese stores and the events that we do each weekend with the Cheese Curd/Grill cheese wagons traveling throughout the area”.
Corey said he will still help on nights and weekends because as he says, “I can’t sit down anyway”.
