Four Vehicles Involved In U.S. 20 Semi Accident

Jo Daviess County, Illinois — It appears this past Wednesday just east of Tiger Whip Road in Jo Daviess County numerous injuries occurred when a semitrailer reportedly failed to brake for traffic that was stopped on the highway, and crashed into the vehicles ahead of it.

According to the Illinois State Police and Jo Daviess County Scanner, the accident reportedly happened around 2:00 p.m.. The semitrailer was heading east on U.S. 20.  Four other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Several injuries were reported and the highway was shut down in both directions for several hours.

Jo Daviess County Scanner reported at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday that Stockton ambulance and fire were called to Hwy 20 near the county line in reference to a car versus semi accident.

They reported:

Update: Believed to be 7+ patients, possibly 12
Update: Leamon’s ambulance and Helicopter dispatched
Update: Warren ambulance and all available personnel paged for mutual aid
Update: There is entrapment
Update: Lifeline will be landing at the ethanol plant in Lena and Aircare 3 will be landing at Stockton Travel Center
