Freeport’s “Ticket Ted” Ted Austin To Celebrate 25 Years of Service

Freeport, Illinois — You may know him for his exceptional chalk writing skills. Perhaps you were the beneficiary of one of his little ‘love’ notes placed on your windshield.  When it comes to Ted Austin, Freeport folks know that no matter ‘where’ you park or ‘when’ you park in downtown Freeport — odds are Ted already knows.

The Freeport Police department recently announced that on Saturday December 2nd, Ted will have completed 25 years of dedicated service to the City of Freeport. We can’t even begin to imagine how many tickets that equates to over the decades but we sure know how many friends it’s created. Everyone loves Ted and for good reason. He’s one of the good guys.

“This anniversary is a good occasion for us to express our sincere thanks to Ted for being such a valuable member of our team all these years,” Freeport Police said. ” “We cannot express enough how much we appreciate his dedication and hard work.”

So if you’re out and about today or happen to know Ted, make sure you say congratulations.
