From Father To Son, To Grandson – Cubs Fandom Hits Home

dustin-sam-grandpaMy Cubs Fandom Started Really In 1989.

I was 10 at the time.

My Dad and I were at the game where the Chicago Cubs clinched the Eastern Division. I remember vividly how nuts the fans at Wrigley were at the end of that game and – I’m not even sure if we won.

Last night was truly a lifetime memory for all Cub fans and today as it sinks in, is the first time I have truly wished that my Dad were here to experience this team.

I owe my fandom to my Dad who has passed on his love for the Cubs not only to me, but my son as well.

I celebrate the Cubs moving into the NLCS not only for my own fandom but for the fandom of my Dad who would have loved this just as much as me.

Yes, this is my Dad too. Thanks brother for the reminder of how much he loved this game and this team.
Miss You Dad.
