Freeport – The Freeport School District is getting ready to launch a new electronic flyer communication tool called “Peachjar” on December 15th! Peachjar posts school flyers online as visually engaging images and emails them to all parents. Upon launch, parents will access school flyers by email and through the Peachjar button (pictured below) that will be placed on schools’ website home pages.
This “green” initiative will save our schools tons of paper and reduce copy costs significantly. On top of that, posting school flyers in this electronic backpack removes a significant administrative burden from teachers, office staff, and volunteers.
For families who do not have internet access, schools will place several flyers for pickup in the school office. If a flyer is considered essential communication, it may still be sent home in paper form via backpack.
Peachjar is free to our schools because community partners pay a small service fee to post and distribute their flyers (typically much less than the cost to copy and deliver paper flyers). All community organizations that want to distribute flyers must use Peachjar, where they will register and upload flyers to be approved by the district. According to their website, Peachjar is the leader in digital flyer management systems used by U.S. school districts, some of the most demanding customers in the world. Our cloud-based platform makes it easy for school districts to deploy and manage their digital flyer approval and delivery system, delivering flyers right to parents’ smartphones. School districts streamline their flyer operations, save significantly on touch labor and increase the effectiveness of the flyers reaching their intended audience, the parents. Peachjar differentiates itself through ease of use, scale and performance, and fanatical customer support.
