Freeport, Illinois — Anyone who knows anything about Freeport, Illinois knows Joe’s Pizza in the downtown area of the city. Joe’s Pizza is a staple in the community and has been for over 18 years. The staff, the service and the food is a cherished delight for us all and for all who eat there.
We just learned that on March 17, 2017, the owner of Joe’s Pizza, Frank Valenti, suffered a massive heart attack. Reports say that all four of Frank’s arteries were nearly 100% blocked, which led to an immediate open heart surgery to save his life.
Being a small business, as we all know, healthcare costs are simply not affordable. Small businesses such as Joe’s Pizza and so many other small businesses like theirs just can’t afford the costs.
As a result, now Frank is in need of financial assistance to help ease the burden of medical costs. Such a said state of affairs when a small business owner, family man and staple in the community who does so much good, can’t afford the costs of saving his own life.
As a result, friends and family of Frank’s have started a Go Fund Me page to help offset the cost of the emergency surgery, additional follow up appointments, testing, medication, rehabilitation and all other medical expenses.
We are asking all of you to please help the family and consider donating on behalf of this loving Freeport man and keep him and his family in your prayers.
Joe’s Pizza is still open at this time.
