Freeport, Illinois — Early morning on Monday of this week Maria’s Pizza located on Galena Avenue caught fire causing over 200,000 worth of damages to one of Freeport’s most loved local restaurants.
Early Wednesday morning Maria’s released photos of what the inside of the restaurant looks like, after the fire.
Maria’s says the fire that took place around 6:30 a.m. on Monday caused damage to their kitchen and main dining area. They say that no one was in the building during the fire. They did say that Fire Marshal’s said temps in the building reached 500 to 600 degrees.
“We are devastated but thinking positive. We want to say Thank you for all the kind and encouraging words from our loyal customers. We are unsure of when we will re-open.”
Maria’s says at this time they will be working hard to bring back the pizza everyone loves. (And we certainly do love their pizza.)
