Pearl City, Illinois – State Assembly Representative Brian Stewart visited Pearl City High School on Wed. April 27. Senior FFA member Hayden Keltner had asked Mr. Stewart to visit the school to talk about some of the bills that have been put before the assembly regarding aspects related to farming in Northwestern Illinois. Mr. Stewart opened with a brief biography and statement of his views on the gridlock that has hampered the legislative process here in Illinois.
He then took questions from the students; questions were very poignant and informed, ranging from his thoughts on the WOTUS bill and farm subsidies to the current Presidential race.
Mr. Stewart then spent about 20 minutes after school was let out to talk to teachers and staff about pension reform and school funding. The students and faculty at Pearl City High School thank Mr. Stewart for his time and candidness.
