Possible ‘Serial Thief’ Apprehended By The Freeport Police

Freeport, Illinois — Have your west side home, car or garage robbed recently? The Freeport Police may just have found your thief. The Freeport police reported that they arrested James Jameson today, a man they allege could be involved in over 30 local burglaries.

Jameson, who is 23 years old, was discovered by police hiding under a porch in the 1200 block of Stephenson Street when they were called with a report of a break in, in the area.

Police said that after speaking with Jameson was when they believed him to be involved in as many as 30 or more burglaries. The burglaries were alleged to have recently happened on the west side of Freeport.

Police say that Jameson is charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools so far.
