FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — A winter storm will move from the northern Plains into lower Michigan Sunday night into Monday bringing a wintry mix of precipitation to the area, according to the National Weather Service. Along and north of the Highway 20 corridor, precipitation is expected to remain mainly snow but some ice may be possible.
South of Highway 20 and down to Highway 30, snow and possibly some freezing rain is expected. Storm total snow amounts of 4 to 6 inches are expected in the Highway 20 corridor with 2 to 4 inches down to the Highway 30 corridor. If freezing rain occurs, ice accumulations will be under 0.1 inches.
