Press Release Multiple arrests at Freeport High School after fights break out. Today at approximately 11:15am, the Freeport Police Department (F.P.D.) responded to Freeport High School (FHS) after the F.P.D. School Resource Officer requested emergency assistance for a large disturbance on the second floor. While restoring order at the school, ten (10) students were arrested for various misdemeanor offenses. Preliminary indications are that a fight broke out earlier in the morning at Freeport High School between two (2) female students, which may have been the cause of a second larger fight on the second floor of the high school. The second larger fight was the event that required emergency assistance due to the large number of students that were present. While police officers and FHS staff members were trying to restore order on the second floor, several other smaller fights broke out throughout the school. At this time it is believed that no FHS staff, FHS students, or police officers sustained any serious injuries during this event. During this incident Troopers from the Illinois State Police, and Deputies from the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist, and the F.P.D. appreciates their assistance and cooperation. A Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office tactical team that was traveling to a nearby training exercise when this incident happened was part of the response. The armored tactical vehicle that was present at FHS was part of the Sheriff’s Office tactical team who responded to FHS. FHS officials placed the school in a “hard lock down” for the remainder of the school day for precautionary reasons; as well as to ensure the safety of students and staff.

I would like to know why I hear gun shots every single day and not a damn thing is posted. Was told at work the other day that dude got killed 6 houses down from my house. We heard the gun shots. Again nothing posted. Beloit scanner and Rockford scanner post every single fucking call made in...Yet you guys haven't had a single post in a week and mother fuckers are out here shooting people every fucking day yet you guys post nothing. Would be nice to know when, where, and how all this shooting occur so that the people in this town can feel half was safe. Pretty bad I can't even let me kidsnout to play cuz never know when they're going to be shooting and this shit hole town does nothing to stop it. Why do i see a fucking cop drive past my house every 5 mins from 9am to 730pm then after 730 you won't see a single cop. And if you do they're not even doing there job...This is ridiculous...Need a new admin who gives a fuck about this town and will actually post the shit that happens. Instead of having to hear it via word of mouth.
