FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — The competitors in this year’s Get FiTeam Challenge faced an unusual obstacle – social distancing rules for the COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible to complete final screenings. 70 people forged ahead and worked toward a healthier lifestyle through the end of the competition April 18.
The FHN Get FiTeam Challenge encourages participants to take a proactive approach to their own health and wellness. Over 12 weeks, participants logged their workout times, healthy eating habits, and competed in a variety of events with the main goal of exploring a healthier lifestyle. The contestants were competing for their own health and wellness, but they were also competing for prizes.
This year’s winning categories were a little different. With no final statistics for weight loss, teams could win in either the total points category or a random draw from amongst teams whose members participated through the end of the challenge. The winners are:
Choose to Lose – $250 per participant as a gift certificate for one of our fitness partners or local stores listed below
Fluffy Marshmallow Girls – $100 per participant
Fitness is the Answer – $50 per participant
