Hello Thief. Our 9 Year Old Wants Her Bike Back And The Entire Community Is On The Lookout

UPDATE 1:56 p.m.. We are happy to report that the bike has been found just 3 hours after our broadcast. A note to everyone, if we all stick together “we the community” can make a huge dent in preventing crime in our neighborhoods. Let’s keep it up.

Man, we sure do hate bringing you these stories. It appears the “wanna be” thugs are up to their antics again. This time, the “Oceans 11 Professionals” thought it would be cool to steal a 9 year old’s bicycle in the early morning hours of April 28, 2016.

A 9 year old’s bicycle that she got as an Easter present.

Not only was this innocent child’s bike stolen, but the family car was also broken into. So, the Mom did the right thing. She called the Police department and she wrote us here at Freeport News Network and Today In the Port so we could ask for your help.

Between the hours of 11:30 p.m & 4:30 a.m last night in Freeport, the Heck family car was broken into and their 9 year old daughters bike was stolen. We are asking all the good people of our community (you) to be on the lookout for this Bike. A photo of the bike can be seen below. (This is the day the 9 year old got the bike)

The incident happened in the 1700 block of S. Chicago Ave.  We want you to share this, keep your eyes open and we are asking our community to help locate this little girls missing bicycle and to provide any information you have, on who may have stolen it and broken into the family car.

If you’re the person who stole the bike, or took anything from the family vehicle, do the right thing and return it.

Feel free to message us, comment below, or you can call Trinity-Tj Heck at 815-291-2203

Yes, and another car was broken into on Jefferson St and an old cell phone was stolen out of the glove box. It may just be a cell phone to the thief…but to the owner, it’s a phone containing all the text messages he shared with his father who passed away tragically and unexpectedly just 6 months ago!!!!! Hope they catch the piece of garbage that caused so much grief for these families!
